Operations Support Assistant
1-Vacancy Number : 029/2010/X
2-Duty Station : Field Office - Jerusalem
3-Basic Salary : JD 669.93 that varies in accordance to the pay policies set by the Agency.
4-Allowances : Family Allowances payable up to 7 children and spouse.
5-Other Benefits : Include Health Insurance and Provident Fund.
6-Qualifications:
-A university degree, preferably in social science, political affairs, international relations, law or a
related field.
-At least two years of experience in humanitarian/relief emergency operations.
-Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
COMPETENCIES
-Flexible, able to assess and analyse situations quickly, objectively and prudently;
-Ability to build and sustain effective work relationships with clients, partners and authorities to
achieve common goals;
-Ability to counsel or deal with people who are in shock or suffering from post-traumatic stress
disorder;
-Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working
relations in a multi-cultural environment;
-Very good communication skills;
-Ability to work under pressure and within a team;
-Ability to make immediate decisions in dangerous situations, to ensure the safety and security of
personnel;
-Articulate, politically aware while remaining impartial and discreet at all times.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
-Experience with radio communication procedures;
-Experience working in humanitarian and human rights affairs;
-Possession of a valid driving license. The incumbent must be in possession to travel in the field during the performance of his/her duties.
-Knowledge of Hebrew

-With their prior agreement, candidates who are approved as suitable for appointment but are not the selected candidate for this vacancy, will be placed on the Agency’s roster of pre-approved candidates for a period of up to one year, and may be considered for future vacancies in the same position. The Agency maintains the discretion to fill future vacancies for this position from the roster without readvertising the vacancy.
