Work context

CESVI has been working in Palestine since 1994, and it has developed over the years an expertise in the area of water, sanitation and environment through the implementation of projects in the field, establishing partnerships with relevant actors in the sector and thanks to active participation in the WASH cluster.

CESVI is currently implementing projects in the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip.

In response to the situation in the Gaza Strip, CESVI is planning expanding its team, through implementation of emergency and humanitarian relief response interventions. This includes but not limited to food security and basic needs assistance, and improving access to water and shelter.

Job Purpose: lead on the implementation and management WASH activities in the different locations in the Gaza strip.

In particular, with the support of the country Administrator and other team members, the incumbent is expected to:

WASH activities implementation:

  • Lead day to day support and supervision to WASH projects.
  • To provide support to WASH field activities implemented by partners’ organizations or community group.
  • To ensure that all work is carried out in a way that is sensitive to community needs, gender and protection issues.
  • Lead on implementing field assessments to feed into the development of the CESVI activities in Gaza, linking emergency response to the longer-term WASH programmes.
  • Contribute in designing WASH activities and budget during the WASH projects design phase in close cooperation with partners and community groups.
  • Contribute in WASH activities reporting ensuring minimum requirements are considered.
  • Assist in collecting best practices, case studies which demonstrate qualitative and quantitative changes over the period.
  • Liaise with CESVI support functions (Finance, Logistics,) regarding payments suppliers and compliance.

Collaboration and corodiantion

  • Ensure that the appropriate MEAL planning is put on place for the WASH projects activities and that he MEAL team is informed.
  • Responsible of developing and following up the progress of the WASH projects MEAL plans, baseline assessments and endline assessments ToRs and reports.

Support the partners and WASH team in developing the projects reports on time in compliance with the donor templates and requirements

Job Requirements

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in water management, engineering, public health.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the in WASH, preferably humanitarian and development sector.
  • Writing and communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, specifically negotiation and diplomacy skills
  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), knowledge of and experience on the use of Kobo toolbox for data collection
  • Valid local driver's license
