Job Title:WASH Officer (Water, Hygiene & Sanitation)
Work Base:Gaza Strip
Project title:Meeting the immediate relief, child protection and livelihood needs of 1,600 families in Gaza by June 2015. The project aims to provide immediate relief (including WASH), child protection and livelihood needs of 1,600 families in Gaza and Gaza North governorates.
Reporting to: Gaza Field Coordinator
Duration: 3 months initially (extendable), 100%
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
-Serve as the technical lead on all WASH project activities
-Provide technical oversight and coordination of all WASH related components of the project
-Lead the development of project work plans, ensuring that targets are met and project outcomes are achieved.
-Lead the design, oversight, and monitoring of project hygiene and sanitation activities.
-Collaborate with other ongoing projects in the Gaza Strip to ensure effective coordination of the project activities.
- Contribute detailed and accurate written inputs to fulfill project technical reporting requirements.
-Coordinate with partners, government agencies, international and local NGOs on project activities as needed.
-Participate in relevant coordination meeting to present project activities (e.g. WASH Cluster), ensure coordination with other projects, and assure highest quality of project implementation
-Collaborate effectively with Tdh staff, partners, and stakeholders
-Ensure gender and protection mainstreaming in all Tdh activities.
-Carry out any other task that is requested by Gaza Field Coordinator

Child Protection Policy
-Commit to respect the Tdh Child Protection Policy and principles of child protection.
-Commit to ensure the best implementation possible of the Child Protection Policy in Palestine.
-Commit to inform supervisors and to deal with any cases, allegations, or possibility of transgression, even potential, of the Child Protection Policy.
Qualifications and Experience
-University degree from a recognized university in any of the following: environmental science, environmental engineering, public health or a related field associated with water supply, sanitation and hygiene behaviour change.
-At least 3 years of field experience in WASH field, including emergencies with focus on Sanitation & hygiene activities.
-Experience in the field of emergency management and child protection
-Excellent writing and communication skills in both English and Arabic
-Strong analytical and organizational skills
-Fluency in English and Arabic is a must
-Valid driving license preferable but not essential
