PROFILE
MSF Spain is looking for a skilled Water and Sanitation Technician in Hebron to help us in carrying out all activities involving supporting the Watsan Manager in the implementation, monitoring, maintaining, and trouble-shooting of Water Hygiene Sanitation activities and infrastructure in the project according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures in order to improve health and living conditions of the target population

Accountabilities:
- Carrying out tasks directly related to the Water and sanitation (WATSAN) activities such as construction and maintenance of infrastructures in the project according to MSF protocols and standards concerning the operation of water supply, waste management and excreta disposal, hygiene and infection control.
- Ensuring the cleaning and maintenance of the Watsan structures and when applicable, of the medical facilities;
- Identifying, recruiting, training and supervising daily labourers or hygiene agents for Watsan activities
- Informing the Watsan Manager of any difficulties, anomalies and problems that may affect the normal functioning of activities and tasks in his/her area of responsibility;
- Assisting the Watsan Manager in Watsan data collection and reporting, as well as maintaining updated files and records of assigned project activities
- Being responsible for equipment, tools, and consumables, verifying that they are safely used and maintained. Reporting to the supervisor any need of renewal and the weekly/monthly consumption
- Has good knowledge/experience/understanding of the situation and changing context in communities (C-areas) of the Southern West Bank.
- Desirable plumbing knowledge and handyman habilities
- Support WATSAN manager in:
- Conducting up-to-date WATSAN assessment in communities and plan a response for short and long terms.
- Conducting training on WATSAN management for communities.
- Help in preparing project plans and chronographs
- Help in water quality sampling and monitoring and field assessment
- Help in coordination with other WATSAN actors regularly.
- Can technically follow up implementation/installation of new water/sewer pipes or maintenance of existing.
- Can help in installation/maintenance of latrines and in appropriate disposal of septage.
- Can support hospitals in WATSAN assessment verifying needs and proposing response plan especially in water, wastewater and medical waste management.
- Can support hospitals in hygiene, disinfection and IPC (Infection prevention and control) relevant WATSAN trainings, procedures application and adaptation.
- Assist the Health Promotion team in conducting community WATSAN training and awareness campaigns.
- Help in ensuring reliable and safe water quality for communities.
- Reporting to the supervisor any need of renewal and the weekly/monthly consumption.
- Support MSF teams in inside offices and mobile clinics improving WATSAN services, assisting in solving WATSAN emerging problems and assisting in ensuring reliable and safe drinking water quality.
- Indentify watsan contractors and prepare and follow up contracts.
- Indentify watsan materials suppliers and prepare and follow up contracts and deliveries.
- Replace the watsan manager at the WATSAN cluster when needed.

Education
Technical certification or proven background, desirable specialization in water and sanitation
Experience
Previous experience in technical works.
Desirable experience in working with Palestine isolated communities.
Experience in plumbing installations, maintenance, water and sanitation constructions or rehabilitations it’s a must.
Languages
Arabic and English are a must. Hebrew is an asset
