Background:
WFP is the food aid arm of the United Nations system. Food aid is one of the many instruments that can help to promote food security, which is defined as access of all people at all times to the food needed for an active and healthy life. ¹ The policies governing the use of World Food Programme food aid must be oriented towards the objective of eradicating hunger and poverty. The ultimate objective of food aid should be the elimination of the need for food aid.
Targeted interventions are needed to help to improve the lives of the poorest people - people who, either permanently or during crisis periods, are unable to produce enough food or do not have the resources to otherwise obtain the food that they and their households require for active and healthy lives.
UN WFP - is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Field Monitor Assistant , under the overall guidance of the team leader and the direct supervision of Senior Programme Assistant. This position is to replace staff on maternity leave with an expected duration of four months.
Description of Responsibilities:
Monitoring of Programme implementation:
In areas of responsibility, conduct monitoring as per the monitoring schedule and using the monitoring forms and tools provided on all aspects of the Programme implementation according to the requirements set by the monitoring and evaluation unit for both post-monitoring (household visits) distribution monitoring including beneficiaries interview for the following programmes:
-General Food Assistance (Food and Voucher)
-General Food Assistance/Institutional feeding (Food and Voucher)
-School feeding
-Conditional voucher programme (Food For Asset (FFA) and Food For Training (FFT))
-Conduct shop monitoring for the General Food Assistance(Voucher) as per the requirement set by the M&E Unit;
-Conduct data-entry of all the filled monitoring forms in the WFP M&E data-base;
-Conduct market assessment and report to VAM unit accordingly;
-Report to the Senior Programme Assistant or person responsible in the country office any infringement or problems in respect to the implementation compliance with WFP rules and regulations and agreement with CPs;
-In areas of responsibility, provide input and support to the Senior Programme Assistant in the development of adequate systems for project implementation, including assistance to organize workshop and draft related materials;
Reporting
-Prepare monthly work plans utilizing the excel file submitted by M&E unit and enter the filled monitoring forms in M&E database;
-Prepare the inputs for the weekly situation reports (Bi-weekly report) for Senior Programme assistant;
-Draft the Notes for records of staff meetings and minutes of CPs coordination meetings when requested on rotational basis;
Administrative issues:
-Attend staff meetings, report on successful stories and assist in organizing workshops, meeting, and exhibitions;
Other duties:
-Provide translation from Arabic into English and vice versa for documents and discussions;
-Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications :
Education:
Secondary school education, applicants holding university degree supplemented with experience or additional education in education, social services, nutrition, agriculture or other related field will be given preferences.
Experience:
At least three years of progressively responsible support experience including at least one year in the field of statistics, refugee operations, or another related field.
Language Requirements:
Good in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
Contract condition Monthly remuneration is based on a lump sum of ILS 8618 with no other entitlement (leaves, sick leaves are not allowed during the contract duration, any absent from work will be deducted from the remuneration).
Applicant will be covered under Henner medical insurance.
Work week: 37.5 hours from Sunday to Thursday
