Mercy Corps, an international non-governmental relief and development agency, is currently expanding activities in the Gaza strip and is recruiting project staff for various positions.
Youth Program coordinator - Full time (1 Year, with possibility of extension)
Program Department Summary:
One of Mercy Corps’ youth program, NSA (Non-State Actors and Local Authorities in Development Actions in the occupied Palestinian Territory) is focused on Palestinian Youth Advocacy for Equity and Employment. The programs aim to support sustainable poverty-reduction and youth empowerment in the occupied Palestinian territories by advancing employment and youth advocacy.
General Position Summery and Responsibilities:
The Program coordinator for Youth Programs In Mercy Corps will manage youth projects in MC office, in Jerusalem, supervise staff and solve programmatic issues and challenges with other local partners involved in the program. S/he will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of youth programming are executed in alignment with their respective grant agreements. S/he will ensure that objective are being met, and will help develop and coordinate the program’s efforts to measure impact through performance management/monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and provide timely information to donors, and HQ. S/he will be responsible for identifying opportunities for future funding, writing proposals.
Qualifications:
1. This position requires an MA/S or equivalence in International Development or at least At least 5 years of relevant experience in implementation of youth programs.
2. Proven success managing the administration and compliance of donor funding
3. Experience with emergency youth response programs
4. Excellent English writing and speaking skills. Excellent Arabic written, spoken.
5. Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills are necessary.
6. Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures,
meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members is required.
