Youth Program Manager

Mercy Corps, an international non-governmental relief and development agency, is currently expanding activities in the Gaza Strip and is recruiting project staff for various positions.
Mercy Corps is seeking a candidate for the following position for our office in Gaza:
Youth Program Manager - Full time
Duration: 1 year, with possibility to extend Program Summary:
Mercy Corps’ Youth Program cultivates leadership and youth-driven community actions in
a process of “talk global, act local.” The program aims to inspire and equip an expanding
network of young leaders to take informed actions that build secure, productive and just
communities around the world.
General Position Summary and Responsibilities:
The Program Manager for Gaza Youth Programs will oversee all youth programs in Gaza, supervise staff and solve programmatic issues and internal challenges. S/he will be
responsible for ensuring that all aspects of youth programming are executed in alignment
with their respective grant agreements. S/he will ensure that objective are being met; will
help develop and coordinate the program’s efforts to measure impact through performance management monitoring and evaluation mechanisms; will provide timely information to donors, and headquarters. S/he will be responsible for identifying opportunities for future funding and writing proposals.
Qualifications:
1- Master’s degree in the relevant field or at least 5 years of relevant experience in management of youth programs.
2- Proven success in designing and implementing broad and diverse youth programs
with focus on local youth community activism, global youth engagement, youth advocacy skills and youth employment actions.
3- Proven success managing the administration and compliance of donor funding
4- Experience with emergency youth response programs
5- Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills are necessary.
6-Excellent English writing and speaking skills; Excellent Arabic written, spoken.
7- Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and
work independently and cooperatively with team members is required.
