UNRWA is the United Nations agency responsible for the protection, care and human development of a population of some 4.6 million Palestine refugees living in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon, and the Syrian Arab Republic. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the ideal candidate:
- Ensures the proper maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register (FA) by receiving goods (GR) on the Purchase Orders POs in SAP, and adding necessary information; i.e. barcode, serial number, chasses number, manufacturer, model and User/Custodian accurately in FA system.
- Coordinates with Departments on manual entry of fixed assets in cases of donation or when items are combined POs and need to be entered in Fixed Assets Register through SAP.
- Ensures accurate tracking of existing fixed assets and facilitates the periodic and end of year physical verification review process by the physical verification and in coordination with Finance Office for reconciliation.
- Coordinates with responsible units on receipt, and technical inspection of fixed assets, coordinates with warehouse managers on dispatch of fixed assets through UNRWA proper document.
- Reports on conditions of potential impairment of fixed assets, conducts the annual impairment review process and coordinates with Finance Office to obtain Property Survey Process properly.
- Generates regular reports from FA to be shared with Departments as part of the monitoring process, provides end of year fixed assets report from Field Property Inspector (FPI) for the fixed assets physical verification to Field Property Management Officer (FPMO).
- Follows up with the Stock Material Inspections Officers SMIOs stock items against issued purchase orders as well as replacement of the supplies out of specifications and rejected by the technical unit concerned.
- Provides guidance to Field Office and all custodians in relation to fixed assets and UNRWA Property.
- Performs any other duties as may assigned.
PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
- A university degree in Business Administration and computer courses, Computer Science or any subject related to the above functions and responsibilities.
- Five years in Logistics and Assets Management or any other related field of works
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Arabic.
- Excellent knowledge of computer applications such as word-processing, spread sheet and database.
- Good knowledge in UNRWA software systems SAP & Fixed Assets Bar-code and financial regulations and accountancy.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
- Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary $962 OR $773.60 based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate and monthly dependency allowance $18.65 and Group Medical Insurance GMI $12.00.
- Contract Duration: six months. Extension is subject to continued need, availability of funds and satisfactory service.
- Leave: 30 days annual leave.
- Other conditions of service and benefits may apply.
- A regular staff member can apply to this LDC post but will not be allowed to assume such post through secondment as he/she needs to leave his/her current post to accept LDC appointment.
EQUIVALENCY
Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered.
