The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees invites applications from
qualified candidates for the post of:
2-Duty Station : Field Office Jerusalem
3-Department : Microfinance Department
4-Basic Salary : 980.8 JD that varies in accordance to the pay policies set by the Agency.
Other fringe benefits include provident fund & health insurance.
5-Allowances : Family Allowances payable up to 7 children and spouse.
An allowance of 1000 NIS payable in JD at UNRWA rate
An allowance of 35% as Special Occupational Allowance
6-Qualifications:
-A university degree in economics, social science, operational research, statistics or related field.
-At least six years experience in the field of monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, programme and project reporting, and social performance management using key output and performance indicators.
-Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
Competencies
-Excellent skills in utilizing standard computer software and database systems.
-Comprehensive understanding of information needs of the microfinance mangers and stakeholders.
-Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and preferably Arabic.
-Flexible attitude and ability to work in a participatory and accountable manner in a busy office that
values interpersonal and team skills.
-Knowledge and understanding of microfinance in UNRWA’s areas of operation, as well as the MENA region.
-Ability to work alone, implement projects with colleagues and outside contractor and meet tight deadlines.
-Creative ability to develop and design social performance indicators combined with the ability to innovate indicators from other regions to the UNRWA’s areas of operation.
-Aptitude to use programme cycle management tools such as marketing studies, needs assessments, focus group discussions and case studies.
-Ability to write monitoring and evaluation reports on social and economic performance, using standard reporting frameworks and tools of the microfinance industry.
-Knowledge of the microfinance environment.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree in economics, social science or other related discipline.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
-The incumbent will be required to travel regularly to the Agency field of operation to achieve the work
objectives.
-Possession of a valid driving license.
