Job Description
UNRWA Gender Initiative is announcing the following vacancy:
Project Officer
(Educational Support Units and Leadership Programs for Women and Girls in the Gaza Strip)
Required tasks:
1-Work with the Gender Initiative Project Manager and Coordinator in setting up two new community-based projects across the Gaza Strip;
2-Facilitate project implementation arrangements;
3-Conduct outreach activities to garner support and interest in the project;
4-Create networks with community-based organizations (CBOs);
5-Maintain excellent organizational overview of the two projects;
6-Advise the Project Manager in implementation arrangements and the development of substantive components;
7-Assist the Project Manager in writing reports on the projects to the donor;
8-Design and generate ideas for advocacy activities and campaigns both locally and internationally relating to the two projects;
9-Supervise and guide staff in the CBOs;
10-Design plans and write regular reports about activities; and
11-Carry out tasks on a need-basis.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
1-Bachelor degree;
2-Excellent command of English both written and spoken;
3-At least 2 years of doing fieldwork in development projects;
4-Experience of setting up new projects and follow them through to the final phase;
5-Solid Monitoring and Evaluation skills;
6-Experience in working with NGOs and CBOs;
7-Excellent computer skills (All MS Office Applications);
8-Good communication and interpersonal skills; and
9-Ability to work under pressure.

1-Start date: As soon as possible
2-Salary: 1,000 USD
