Donor Visibility Officer

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent will:
-Develop donor visibility plans; create and maintain a database of donor visibility requirements and timelines for individual projects, in coordination with the Projects Office;
-Track projects and coordinate with the Project Office, Public Information Office, Programmes, and the Front Office to ensure appropriate placement of donor branding during project implementation, and project visibility to beneficiaries and local populations;
-Coordinate with the Public information office to ensure project implementation is captured (through photos, videos, etc.) according to donor requirements, and ensure the development of innovative and creative, context-appropriate visibility items/materials;
-Work to develop prominence of donor visibility on UNRWA’s social media platforms and on Gaza Field Office channels – UNRWA TV, Gaza Field Office portal;
-Support the Communications Department and Projects Office in drafting and finalising any media materials, including press releases, related to specific projects;
-Follow up on additional donor requests, as necessary (through Projects Office and/or External Relations and Communications Department);
-Draft and edit case studies and human interest stories, in coordination with Communications and implementing Programme teams;
-Work closely with the Public Information Office to support launch events and ceremonies, ensure donor visibility and relay related materials to respective donors;
-Provide support to scheduling and planning of donor visits, where necessary;
-Any other tasks, as assigned by the Communications Department or Projects Office.
PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
-Advanced university degree in one or more of the following disciplines: political science, international relations, development studies, journalism, communications, marketing or another relevant field;
-At least three years experience in developing and writing clear concise and structured material for a variety of audiences; besides, a work experience in a complex and cross-cultural setting;
-Brand and marketing experience within the humanitarian/not-for-profit sector and/or for a donor organization;
-Excellent technical skills in writing, editing, formatting;
-Photography/video skills an advantage;
-Proven flexibility to handle changing priorities and managing multiple projects and deadlines efficiently and without compromising quality;
-Ability to collaborate with diverse, multi-cultural teams to achieve significant goals;
-Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic;
-Computer proficiency;
-Sound security awareness; and
-Interested in and supportive of humanitarian and development agencies and the United Nations system.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
-Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary $ 1,433.50; plus a currency adjustment factor (present rate 5.11%).
-Contract Duration: six months. Extension is subject to continued need, availability of funds and satisfactory service.
-Leave: 30 days annual leave.
-Other conditions of service and benefits may apply.
-A regular staff member can apply to this LDC post but will not be allowed to assume such post through secondment as he/she needs to leave his/her current post to accept LDC appointment.
