Bethlehem University is seeking to recruit a Financial Analyst to work in the Finance Office. The successful applicant will technically supervise the day to day operation of budgeting, expense and revenue transactions in order to ensure the smooth running of the Finance Office.

Job Objective/ Summary: The Financial Analyst technically supervises the day to day operation of the budgeting, expense and revenue transactions in order to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the Office. His daily activities and tasks, and in addition to resolving routine technical problems and matters in accordance with Bethlehem University policies and procedures, include identifying inefficiencies or irregularities in the process and working with the Vice President to resolve them and improve the efficiency of the system. He reports to the Vice President for Finance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Main routine duties:
1-Supervises the day to day operation of the budgeting, expense and revenue transactions in order to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the Unit.
2-Works with the Vice President for Finance to evaluate and identify actions needed to improve the functioning of the Office.
3-Is responsible for keeping track and monitor the status of the funds and liquidity available on weekly basis including availability of funds for salaries at the different banks.
4-Is responsible for reviewing requests, forms and other documents out of the Accounting and Finance Unit and before forwarding for Vice President’s signature.
5-Is responsible for reviewing monthly update reports of the different sub units including grants and projects, scholarships, to identify irregularities and delays in implementation.
6-Leads the departments’ specific and University general budgeting process and monitors its execution.
7-Ensures proper communication of regular monthly reporting of budget status to the concerned people at the different departments.
8-Assists the Vice President in preparing financial reports, narrative and illustrative, for Board of Regents and other meetings.
9-Any other tasks to be assigned by the Vice President for Finance and Administrative Affairs.
Periodic duties:
1-Maintains and updates the financial rules and regulations policies and procedures while consulting with and informing faculty and staff in matters of importance to them.
2-Assists in keeping track of periodic and ad-hoc matters such as cost of living and exchange rate matters and its impact on salaries, students’ tuition and other University business.
The following job specifications apply to this position:
Minimum BA in Finance or related field (MA preferable)
Minimum five years’ experience
Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft office programs especially Excel
CPA (an advantage)
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proven problem solving ability
