Founded in 1993, Médecins du Monde Switzerland is a medical association of international solidarity that is part of the Médecins du Monde network. We provide sustainable access to health care for people in vulnerable situations in Switzerland and around the world.
MdM Switzerland, has been working in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) since 1994 in the sector of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), implementing emergency and development interventions, focusing on victim of occupation-related violence, children and detention, suicide prevention and management, strengthen of access to mental health cares at national and community level, and advocacy initiative.
MAIN OBJECTIVE:
Design and follow up the rehabilitation and equipment of health care and educational facilities to sustain the effective delivery of health, MHPSS and protection services in East Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Hebron areas.

FUNCTIONS
Main responsibilities and activities of the Civil/ Architect Engineer can change according to the organization of the work and to the composition of the team.
Programming, management & development
Follow up with end-user (MoH),(MoE) and MdM team to agree on the final specifications & quantities and ensure that proposed rehabilitations and equipment meet the requirements for the provision of health/MHPSS/protection services
Prepares the bill of quantities (BoQ) and the tender documents including initial cost estimation for the targeted health and educational structures in close collaboration with the logistics team
Assists in the technical evaluation of the offers
Supervises the rehabilitation works on the targeted premises, accompany and follow-up the contractors in the implementation
Inspect work demonstrating quality control related to all tasks executed works and supplies
Participate in events and meetings in collaboration with the project manager when needed.
Monitoring, reporting and evaluation
Provide on-time periodic reports according to MdM Switzerland and donor’s templates.
Conduct assessment of activities when needed.
Report to the Project manager on a regular basis.

Good skills in writing and reporting
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:
An Architect engineer or Civil engineer diploma and registered at the Engineering Association
At least 5 years experience in similar work.
Have a very good knowledge of architect/design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Sketchup, Autodesk Revit, … etc) in Microsoft Office applications, excel, word, outlook
Experience on health care and education facilities rehabilitation
Fluent English & Arabic.
CONDITIONS:
The consultancy work will be in East Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Hebron areas
The consultant must have an access to Jerusalem
Contract Duration: 6 months can be renewable.
Working Hours: According to the need.
