Developing Livelihood Development Plans for Small-scale Projects
MA’AN, in partnership with ActionAid Palestine, is currently implementing the "Humanitarian Program funded by DANIDA" which aims to strengthen the resilience and protection of women and young women affected by the protracted crisis and disasters in the Gaza Strip in line with IHRL and IHL. As part of this program, MA'AN will undertake a set of activities that aim at strengthening the economic resilience of a group of vulnerable women through supporting their engagement in small-scale income-generation projects, mainly food production and animal husbandry. In addition, the target group will be provided with capacity building and technical support to enhance their technical capacity to run their businesses.
MA'AN is looking for a qualified consultant to develop livelihood project development plans for 50 small-scale projects. The targeted small-scale projects were established in 2018, 2019 and 2020 and they are currently performing well technically and financially. The small-scale projects are being run by GBV women who were provided with income-generating projects to enhance their resilience by promoting their access to economic resources. The targeted projects are diverse as they include bother agricultural and non-agricultural projects. The agricultural projects include sheep farms, food production projects, and poultry farms. The non-agricultural projects include beauty salons, educational centers, mini-markets, boutique, etc. The targeted small-scale projects are located in Khan Younis and Rafah.
Only individual consultants or groups are eligible to apply for this consultancy service. The consultancy group should consist of at least 3 consultants who have prior demonstrated experience in developing livelihood project development plans for small-scale projects related to animal-husbandry and food production in addition to small enterprises.
The consultant, should have the following qualifications:
- Academic qualification in business administration, business planning, economics or any relevant field. Master's degree and above is a credit.
- At least 5 years of experience in the field of business planning and economic resilience.
- At least 3 years of experience in working with NGOs in the field of economic empowerment.
- Demonstrated experience in providing coaching for small-scale businesses.
- Good reporting, writing, and communication skills, with specific reference to analytical reports and studies.
- Ability to develop concrete methodology and timeframe for delivering the required consultancy service within the specified duration.
