Development of Cooperatives Database-Platform

BACKGROUND/INTRODUCTION 

 We Effect, is a Swedish Non-governmental, non-profit, non-religious and civil society developmental organisation established in 1958 non-political, operating in Palestine since 1998, aiming at achieving the mission to, through a mutual partnership, strengthen local and democratic civil society organizations so that their members can improve their living conditions, enforce accountability of duty-bearers, defend their rights and contribute to a more just world.

We Effect Country office in Palestine has been implementing Programme for strengthening sustainable livelihoods in rural areas of Palestine, the programme aims to strengthen the capacities of the local partner organisations; cooperatives, cooperative unions, NGOs and other organisations to address the rights of their members and to deliver quality services to them. The rights-based approach will be the foundation of our work in the programme and the programme will contribute to a strong and vibrant Palestinian civil society with a diverse set of actors in rural development joining forces to create an enabling policy environment and increase the business and production capacities of marginalised groups.
