Position: Digital Media Consultant 

Organization: Oxfam – Occupied Palestinian Territory & Israel (OPTI) 

Type of contract: Freelancer services  

Duration: ad hoc services and research over a period 5 months, November 2021- March 2022  

Background: 

Digital engagement is an essential part of Oxfam’s response to global shifts in the fields of communications, fundraising, advocacy and development. Use of digital media platforms helps Oxfam in OPTI amplify the voices of people we work with and increase engagement around Palestinians’ human rights. 

Effective use of digital channels to communicate Oxfam’s key messages, by sharing relevant content allows us to create valuable relationships with our online and offline supporters both in the Middle East and globally.

In order to more effectively use digital communication platforms Oxfam is seeking a digital consultant. 

Purpose and objectives: 

Under the guidance and supervision of the Oxfam Media and Communications Lead and direction from the Oxfam Regional Digital Manager, the consultant will assist the advocacy team in (1) creating and managing a new Instagram account for Oxfam in OPTI, (2) managing Oxfam’s social media platforms and planning and scheduling posts of content produced by the Media and Communications team through the appropriate social media channels (3) Monitoring social media engagement, providing social media listening and suggesting new techniques and social media content that will help us reach our designated audience (4) lead on language and public opinion analysis on digital platforms related to Palestinian human rights.

Your technical offer must include your CV with two references, a cover letter demonstrating your skills and experience that will help us evaluate you according to the bellow criteria and links to samples of previous relevant assignments. Your financial offer must be a lump sum cost for 5 months at a rhythm of 1.5 to 2 days a week, with some weeks where more days will be needed – a schedule of needed outputs and follow-up will be developed with the successful candidate.
