MA'AN Development Center, established in 1989, focuses on empowering marginalized communities in Palestine through a human rights-based approach. It promotes sustainable development through initiatives that emphasize self-reliance and empowerment. Recognizing the significance of innovation and entrepreneurship in driving sustainable growth, MA'AN launched its Hub for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (HIE) in 2018.
The Hub fosters partnerships among higher education institutions, research centers, and private firms to address economic and environmental challenges in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. It empowers innovators and entrepreneurs through education, mentorship, and market engagement, with a strong emphasis on gender inclusion and sustainable practices. By leveraging global technological advancements, the Hub aims to tackle local economic and environmental challenges and enhance youth access to economic opportunities.
To reinforce its achievements, the Hub is working on ensuring inclusivity for marginalized groups. For this purpose, the Hub seeks to integrate the "Leaving No One Behind" (LNOB) principles into its strategic framework and operations. Through a partnership with GIZ, the Hub is implementing a project that aims to enhance its capacity to create an equitable environment that fosters the inclusion and empowerment of all community members, particularly the most vulnerable.
The main objective of this consultancy is to develop an LNOB Guidance Note for MA'AN Hub. This document will integrate LNOB principles into the Hub's strategic framework, policies, and working methods to ensure inclusivity, equity, and sustainability in all its initiatives.
