Logistic Assistant / Pharmacist or Assistant Pharmacist

Location: Nablus

 

  1. Background:

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a UK-registered charity that has been reaching out to the Palestinian communities, striving to deliver health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. MAP provides immediate medical aid to those in need at times of crisis, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.  MAP’s vision is of a future in which all Palestinians can access an effective, sustainable, and locally led system of healthcare and the full realization of their rights to health and dignity.

2- Objective:

The MAP West Bank office is looking for a Logistics Assistant /Pharmacist or Assistant Pharmacist who will be responsible for ensuring the proper stocking of prepositioned medical supplies, including consumables, disposables, and medications, at Al-Najah National University (ANNU) Hospital in Nablus. The logistics assistant will also be responsible for monitoring the quantities and tracking expiration dates of the emergency items and releasing them when needed in coordination with the program manager and logistic officer.

3- Scope of work:

  • In coordination with WB logistics and programme team, the assistant will closely work with the warehouse teams at ANNU Hospital to ensure proper stocking of prepositioned medical supplies.
  • Monitor the quantity and track the expiration date of emergency supplies.
  • Verify that all medical supplies are in good condition.
  • Communicate with the surrounding hospitals to determine the focal point and urgent needs in an emergency.  
  • Coordinate with the hospital warehouse to release the items as needed.  
  • Monitor the delivery process to ensure the correct items, quantities, and delivery notes are provided.
  • Be able to travel to the warehouse during any emergency/incursion in order to oversee the distribution of the items.
  • Monitor and report the security situation to determine the appropriate time for the items to be released.  

 4- Duration:

The contract period is at least one working day per month and as needed for one year, with the possibility of amendment according to circumstances and needs.

 

  • Qualifications:
  • Pharmacist/assistant pharmacist with good knowledge in medical supplies storage conditions.
  • Currently residing in Nablus city, close to Al-Najah National University Hospital and possessing substantial knowledge of the local political and security situation.
  • Experience in logistics coordination is essential.
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Reliability and timeliness are critical for this role.

The payment will be daily paid based on request for payment, approved timesheet and warehouse tracking report approved by the MAP Medical Program Manager.

  1. Ethical Considerations

 The incumbent is required to adhere to MAP policies and ethical guidelines, including MAP’s safeguarding policy and code of conduct.
