MA’AN is an independent Palestinian development and training institution established in January, 1989, registered by law as a non-profit organization. The main office is located in Ramallah and the other branch offices are located in Gaza, and Jenin. MA’AN's work is informed by the necessity of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the development of human resources for sustainable development, which incorporate values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment. 

In the last two years, the HUB for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, funded by DCA/NCA, has been working on providing an innovative solution to address the salinity of water for irrigation. One of the tested solutions is a technology that ionizes water and enables for effective use of water for irrigation. In response, the technology has been brought to the Gaza strip from Egypt and piloted by one farmer entrepreneur that had been incubated by MA’AN Hub. 

Within this fund MA’AN seeks a consultancy firm to conduct a market assessment as a detailed and objective evaluation of the potential of the new technology of the magnetic treatment of water. This includes a comprehensive analysis of environment forces, market trends, entry barriers, competition, risks, opportunities and the potential customers’ resources and constraints, profitability, etc. This will enable the investors to decide about the technology as an investment in the Gaza Strip .The expected key qualifications:

• At least 5 years’ experience working in agri-chains: value chain analysis, market surveys, and market intelligence. 
• Extensive knowledge and proven experience in market studies. 
• Knowledge of business environment in Gaza Strip is a must. 
• Knowledge of regional/global markets and export procedures is a must. 
• Experience in agriculture and water sector will be an advantage.

•  The awarded Consultant of this offer will be required to pay for the cost of this advertisement.
• Offers will be assessed first on their technical merit using the evaluation criteria below. Only technical scores of at least 70 points will qualify for the financial review. The financial offer weight is 30% from the total weight while the technical offer is 70% of the total weight.
