Study to assess the impact of the pandemic on market functioning, on inflation and on value chains
MA’AN is an independent Palestinian development and training institution established in January, 1989, registered by law as a non-profit organization. The main office is located in Ramallah and the other branch offices are located in Gaza, and Jenin. MA’AN's work is informed by the necessity of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the development of human resources for sustainable development, which incorporate values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment.
MA’AN in partnership with Humanity and Inclusion, funded by The Federal German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), is implementing the project of “Enhancing resilience of local population through the promotion of inclusive health services, re-construction and enhanced emergency preparedness to mitigate the impact of future crises”. The project targets the most vulnerable persons and households without/with disabilities in addition to households with a member with disability and PWDs with urgent home-adaptation needs. In addition, the project supports enhancing the capacities of construction and international humanitarian and development actors, multi sectoral service providers and households affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The project aims at enforcing persons with disabilities access to basic and specialized services at time of crisis and post emergency through construction/rehabilitation of accessible infrastructure and humanitarian and development actor’s empowerment.
MA'AN is seeking a consulting firm to perform a Market study , the main objective of the study: To provide us with the information and analysis of current and future livelihoods opportunities for vulnerable population based on a Market Assessment to support the development of HI’s strategy in response to the socio-economic crisis in Gaza.”
MA’AN seeks qualified consulting firm with proven experience in the field of the sought consultancy. The consulting firm should present set of qualifications and technical backgrounds that suits the scope of the consultancy. MA’AN expects the consultancy firm to have a composition of multi-disciplinary team to execute the consultancy. Consultant/researcher Competencies:
- A high degree in economics, business development or any related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience working on range of strategic planning assignments addressing the economic sector/markets.
- Proven experience in conducting or managing researches and preparing reports.
- Proven experience in facilitating collective discussions/meetings/workshops.
- Evidence of having generated quality reports or published studies in the relevant field in English language.
- Knowledge of market environment in Gaza Strip is a must.
- Excellent knowledge of value chain analysis.
- Strong analytical, research and presentation skills
- Ability to work under pressure in challenging environments.
- Capacity to communicate with different sectors.
- Determination and focus on goals and results.
- Sound management and effective facilitation skills.
