About the Project

Youm Jadeed (New Day) is a groundbreaking educational and psychosocial support initiative designed for children aged 7-11 in Palestine. Funded by Education Above All, this innovative project leverages radio, digital platforms, and social media to channel psychosocial messaging and educational information and therefore contribute to addressing the gap caused by the ongoing war. Over seven months, the program’s first phase will produce and broadcast 90 edutainment-based episodes, complemented by supplementary materials to be available online, to provide critical learning opportunities and psychosocial support to children and their caregivers.

Role of Technical Advisors

To ensure the highest standards in content quality and alignment with international best practices, we are seeking experienced Education in Emergencies (EiE) Advisors, Protection Advisors, Gender Advisors, and Psychosocial Support (PSS) Advisors. These consultants will play a pivotal role in reviewing scripts and recorded episodes to ensure:

Alignment with global EiE standards and localized contextual needs

Adherence to "Do No Harm" principles.

Gender mainstreaming across all content.

Appropriate integration of educational, psychosocial, and protection themes.

Scope of Work

The selected consultants will:

1. Review and Feedback: Provide detailed reviews of scripts and recorded episodes to ensure they are contextually appropriate for the unique circumstances in Palestine in general and the Gaza Strip in particular, and meet relevant standards for education, gender equality, protection, and psychosocial support. Each episode’s script ranges from 2,000 to 2,500 words.

2. Technical Guidance: Provide recommendations to enhance the content’s quality, effectiveness, and relevance, and ensure materials address the unique needs of children in conflict settings and validate that all materials are safe, inclusive, and aligned with "Do No Harm" principle.

Qualifications

We are seeking consultants with Palestine specific expertise in the following areas:

Education in Emergencies (EiE):

Advanced degree in education, international development, or a related field.

Significant experience in EiE programming and curriculum development.

Familiarity with global EiE standards and frameworks.

Protection:

Background in child protection, safeguarding, and humanitarian programming.

Experience integrating protection principles into educational and media content preferred.

Gender:

Expertise in countering GBV, gender mainstreaming, particularly in education and humanitarian contexts. Demonstrated experience ensuring gender-sensitive content and approaches. Ability to advise on gender transformative approaches preferred.

Psychosocial Support (PSS):

Professional qualifications in psychology, social work, or a related field.

Experience designing and reviewing content to promote emotional resilience and well-being for children.

Duration and Engagement

The consultancy is expected to run for the duration of the project (7 months), with a flexible engagement structure based on project needs and deliverables.
