Technical Supervisor (PSS and Case management)
 
Overview:
SOS Children's Villages Palestine (hereafter: SOS Palestine) has been active in the Palestinian Territories since 1966 and is registered locally there as a non-profit, non-governmental organization. The national office of SOS Palestine is located in Bethlehem and projects and programs are implemented in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The main focus of the work is the placement of children and adolescents in a family environment (SOS Children's Village) and community-based programs on education, health, and psychosocial and economic empowerment of families. Another focus is capacity building of local community structures and community-based support mechanisms for vulnerable families. SOS Palestine's activities are largely funded by SOS Children's Villages worldwide and other SOS Association.
A three-year project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is under implementation by SOS Palestine in West Bank and Gaza Strip with the main objective to strengthening gender equality and protection of children from violence.
 
Objective:
SOS Palestine is seeking to engage PSS and case management Technical Supervisor to provide individual and group supervision to 2 staff members working in Gaza (a psychologist and a social worker). The technical supervisor will report to the project coordinator in Gaza. He / She will collaborate with the psychologist and the social worker to provide PSS and case management related guidance and supervision.
 
Project Duration: November 2021 – December 2024
 
Responsibilities:
The Technical supervisor is going to provide technical individual and group supervision sessions (21 sessions over the entire duration of the project, 4 hours each session starting from June 2022 until December 2024) to the project psychologist and social worker in Khan Younis according to the following:
  • Provides individual supervision session for each of the psychologist and the social worker) one session every six weeks. Within these sessions he/she discusses the handling of new and follows up cases as well as reviews the methodology of technical documentation. The session lasts for one hour and half (90 minutes) for each staff.
  • Provides group supervision sessions for the psychologist and social worker. Within these sessions he/she discusses the cases, the activities, general instructions as well as questions related to family development plan. The session lasts for an hour (60 minutes).
  • Provision of technical feedback to the staff and help them to build appropriate family development plans according the families’ needs.
  • Conduct regular case file review and check quality and consistency of work, ensuring that all decisions made are recorded on case files.
  • Provide annual plan for supervisions sessions.
  • Submits reports to the Project Coordinator (report to cover 3 sessions together), highlighting the sessions’ (individual and group) outputs.
Conditions and criteria that must be met by the applicant:
  • Master Degree in Psychology, Social Science and/or equivalent qualification.
  • Preferable having diploma in Technical Supervision.
  • Minimum 4 years proven experience as a technical supervisor for PSS activities.
  • At least 3 years proven experience in PSS projects.
  • At least 3 years proven experience in case management procedures.
  • Previous experience working with GBV cases is required.
  • Strong organizational communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian principles
  • Reporting skills
  • Technical Supervisor located in Gaza Strip.
