Communication Specialist

Background

Stars of Hope Society (SHS) Located in Ramallah, a non-profit association, registered by the Palestinian Authority, and founded in 2006 under the charitable Association and civil Bodies.

Stars of Hope Society is a lead organization for women with all types of disabilities in Palestine. It is a woman-centered organization, which works on a collective model. Women with disabilities run our organization, to help and empower other women with disabilities. It is the only organization of its kind in Palestine and one of a very small number internationally.

Stars of Hope Society is seeking a short-term consultancy on the Communications Strategy.

The objectives of assignment

The aim of the assignment is to develop a communication strategy for SHS along with various communication and media tools that incorporates customized approaches to effectively inform and engage work and intervention.

Scope of work

The consultant shall carry out the following:

Develop a communication strategy for SHS, including a guideline for all communications at SHS, to enhance the awareness, understanding, and knowledge of SHS work and intervention.

Identification of the communication objectives for SHS.

Identification of main communication channels and strategies to reach all SHS staff.

Identification of the required capacities and manpower to implement the proposed strategy.

Implementation plan, including coaching sessions for SHS staff.

Timeframe

Planned time schedule is two calendar months for the above scope of work.

Deliverables

A final methodology, including detailed work plan, scheduled time frame.

A clear communication strategy, and coaching sessions for SHS staff.

Main report for work progress, including evaluation and recommendation post coaching sessions.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Communication, Media, Marketing or related field;

3-4 years of relevant working experience;

Demonstrate prior experience in developing a communication strategy, ideally in the development context;

Recent experience in women and disability inclusion would be considered a significant advantage;

Proficient writing skills in both languages English and Arabic.

QUATATION SUBMISSION

Applicants must submit comprehensive technical proposal and financial offer either in Arabic or English as follows:

1. Technical proposal: the technical proposal should clearly include the following:

• Consultants’ experience, educational background and technical skills in response to the TOR (CVs of consultant/team members proposed)
• Detailed methodology- clarifying how the assignment will be implemented

2. Financial Proposal

• A total amount in USD submitted to SHS, including costs per day, any relevant taxes, transport costs etc.
• The consultant will be responsible for her/his own travel and communication expenses associated with the assignment. All other expenses related to conducting the assignment will be covered by the project i.e., local consultation/ information seeking sessions.
• Payment to be done in USD after the submission of a payment request of the implemented activities and tasks to be validated by the Programs Manager, not to exceed three payments.
• Stars of Hope Society will pay the corresponding amount by cheque or bank transfer.
