Training on Workplace health care and promotion

Workplace Health Care Promotion (WHCP) is the combined efforts of employers, employees and society to improve people´s health and well-being at work. WHCP aims at all fields which are connected with the workforce as a so-called production factor:

-     Considerable amounts of absenteeism from employees, in particular of younger employees.

-     High amounts of sickness days, longer sick periods, often more seen on elder employees.

-     High amount of work-related accidents.

-     Low job satisfaction of employees.

-     High costs of staff recruitment, caused by high unintended job turnover.

Being aware that nearly all developments in companies are inter-connected, these situations often lead to secondary negative effects:

• Lower productivity level.
• Quality problems regarding offered goods and services, leading to unintended price discounts and lower profit.
• Limited financial leeway for further investments.

WHCP is also dealing with the health and safety situation in firms during the COVID-19 pandemic. To increase the awareness of employers and support health protection measures for workers in firms are important activities within this instrument.
