The Australia Middle East NGO Cooperation Agreement - Phase 3 (AMENCA 3) uses a hybrid approach that integrates community development with Market Systems Development (MSD) to facilitate agricultural development across the Palestinian Territories.The AMENCA 3 program has been implemented to increase agricultural outputs and strengthen agricultural value chains, and thereby enhance economic opportunities especially for women and youth.

Union Aid Abroad – APHEDA and CARE, as two of the implementing organisations, are seeking to contract a consultant/consultancy firm to conduct a sector review of the vegetable value chain in both West Bank and the Gaza Strip. The successful consultant/consultancy firm will engage stakeholders working in the vegetable sub-sector, beneficiary and non-beneficiary farmers, private sector, and government, in order to conduct a sectoral review of the vegetables business model/value chain. The assignment will be carried out over two calendar months, starting from March/April 2021.

All applicants should meet the following criteria:

1. Advanced degree in agricultural engineering / plants production/ business/ economics or related fields from an accredited university.
2. At least 10 years of professional experience conducting sectoral, clusters, value chains reviews and analysis.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Excellent reporting skills in Arabic and English.
5. Past experience in working with international NGOs and Donors’ development programmes.
6. Basic knowledge about social inclusion and gender aspects.
7. Knowledge in Market Systems Development (MSD) programmes would be an asset.
