Background
The Jerusalem Human Rights Consortium (JHRC) is a consortium of four leading Palestinian human rights organizations native in Jerusalem – The Jerusalem Legal Aid and Human Rights Centre (JLAC), The Land Research Centre (LRC), The Saints Yves Association (St Yves) and the Women’s Centre for legal Aid and Counselling (WCLAC).
The consortium has started the implementation of the project Protecting Marginalized Communities in East Jerusalem through legal aid, planning and advocacy, funded by the EU East Jerusalem Programme. The overall objective of the project is to support the marginalised Palestinian communities in East Jerusalem, increase their resilience, prevent forcible transfer and reinforce the Palestinian identity of East Jerusalem through the provision of legal aid, land planning assistance, and local and international advocacy efforts.
In partnership with Palestinian and European organisations, JHRC is organising a multi-day event that will gather the principal human rights actors active in Palestine and Europe in order to address several key challenges.
Job description
JHRC is planning to create and launch a dedicated website for the event, to ensure accessibility to the most recent information related to the event. To guarantee the best experience to users, the website is going to be user friendly with vivid instructions for the features available and will display the content in an organised and attractive manner. The website will be bilingual (Arabic and English).
JHRC is inviting proposals from qualified agencies/consultants with a track record of success in designing, developing and producing websites.
The work will be undertaken under the supervision of the JHRC Director and Communications Coordinator and in close collaboration with the Graphic Designer and relevant team members. The web developer’s main tasks will be to propose, develop and implement all elements of the new website.

Starting date of assignment: as soon as possible
Duration of contract: five months, with a possible 1-month extension.
Required skills and work experience
Candidates should demonstrate their experience and qualifications in website development by providing a portfolio with examples of their work. In particular, they should:
Have a broad knowledge of current web development technologies and design tools in the field.
Familiarity and relevant experience in using different Content Management Systems (CMS).
Demonstrate the ability to create innovative and visually appealing designs.
Have excellent knowledge of recent trends and websites design.
Language requirements
Candidates should:
Be fluent in Arabic.
Have a working knowledge of English.

Select portfolio of previous work of web development (links and samples)
Brief presentation of the team, with CVs, and functional responsibilities of the key experts to be engaged in the development of the website
Proposed methodology, approach (creative and innovative ideas) and brief implementation plan with proposed timeframe for pre-production and postproduction;
Financial Offer in a separate sealed and stamped/sealed envelope: Please provide a global price for the assignment as a whole, including purchasing of domain name, license for the CMS, security tools and website template.
