Skills for Employability Program 2019

Are you unemployed and between 22-25 years old, and looking to update your professional and business English language skills? AMIDEAST, through the American Spaces program, will be providing a 4-month training program followed by 2-month paid internships at Palestinian institutions and companies from February to August 2019, and participants will be mentored along the way.

The Skills for Employability the program will include different modules covering personal and professional skills like communications, interview skills, critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, time management and business-related technology skills. This program is designed to increase personal awareness and improve English language proficiency, workplace skills valued by employers, job search strategies and resources, and provide a community-impact experience.

Five of the top performing participants will have the opportunity to travel to the United States for one week to advance and specialize their skills at a U.S. university or training institution.

Participants must be available from February to June 2019 at either of the locations/times below:
1) America House Jerusalem: The schedule will be Fridays and Tuesdays from 9:30-1:30 pm and participants must be Jerusalem ID holders or have access to Jerusalem for the entire period of the program.
2) AMIDEAST's office in El Bireh/Ramallah: The schedule will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30-2:30 pm.

Transportation will not be provided. Participants must also complete the 2-month internship taking place June - August 2019.
