Academic Coordinator
Save Youth Future Society (SYFS) is a non-governmental, non-profit and independent society founded in Gaza in 2001. SYFS work is informed by the necessity of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the achievement of sustainable development, and which incorporate values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment.
SYFS in partnership with UNDP is implementing Al Fakhoora Dynamic Futures Programme Funded by Education Above All Foundation (EAA), which aims to building a cadre of educated and trained leaders who are civic-minded, intellectually able, and professionally skilled to become community, business, and national leaders of the future. The programme, which targets Palestinian postsecondary students of underserved backgrounds, avails opportunities for them to actualize their potential by overcoming socioeconomic, political and cultural limitations and enabling them to become productive members in the society. The Partnership with SYFS aims the implementation of the Domestic Undergraduate Scholarships that is offered for 530 Bachelor degree students at the different local universities of Gaza. Thus, SYFS intends to recruit for the following position:
Title: Academic Coordinator
Place: Save Youth Future Society office, Gaza
Report to: Project Officer
Duration: 5 months with possibility of extension
Key Responsibilities:
-Communicate with undergraduate students on academic matters.
-Prepare financial requests and payment to universities
-Prepare and ensure timely payment of semester -base books and transportation expenses Academic follow up and educational attainment.
-Coordination with universities to start students’ registration.
-Ensure updated academic progress reports for the contracted students. Preparing monthly reports, case studies, and success stories Students’ affair committee member.
-Coordinate on the different.
-Students’ academic data entry to the portal.
-Academic counseling.
-Psycho-social support.
-Follow up the transformation of the student from one college to another and from a university to another.
-Follow up of implementing of disciplinary procedures
-Documentation and archiving the student’s files
-Perform any other tasks required by management and donor.
Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience:
-Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Psychosocial, Education or another related field.
-Three years of professional experience in project management, preferably with experience in working with NGO's / Academic counselling and student Affairs.
-Professional level in both Arabic and English language skills.
-Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English and Arabic.
-Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
-Ability to work under pressure and within a team
