Accountant position

The Institute for Community Partnership (ICP) – Bethlehem University has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund – Ministry of Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank and EC for the project entitled: ‘Enhancing the BU Computer Information Systems (CIS) Program-Towards Market-Driven and Job Creation Program’ The ICP is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the vacancy of Project Accountant.

Position Title: Project Accountant
Duration: 9 months
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform bookkeeping services for the project.
-Preparing and following up purchase orders for the project with BU purchasing manager
-Monitor Status of the project account and prepare bank reconciliation.
- Assist with preparation of budget of budget reallocation whenever needed.
- Analyze and reconcile expenditures accounts to budgeted accounts and prepare monthly reports to project manager and ICP director with recommendations.
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports at BU for accuracy and completeness.
- Recommend, develop, and maintain manual filing systems for procurement and all other financial expenses of the project.
- Maintain assets and prepare depreciation expense for equipment.
- Prepare the Financial reports to submit to PCU and photocopy all related documents.
- Assist (with the project manager) the incubated ideas in preparing financial data bases, computer systems and financial budgets for their projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting, or other related fields.
-Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and other specialized computer applications.
- Ability to work within a team and under pressure.
- Fluency in English with good report writing.
