Position: Admin, logistics & Security Assistant
Location: East Jerusalem
Work Schedule: Part time Approximately 20 Hours / week
Starting date: October 1st, 2015
I-Background on Tdh:
Tdh is a non-governmental organization that has been implementing humanitarian projects in the Palestinian territory since 1973. It is the largest non-governmental organization (NGO) for childrens aid in Switzerland. It undertakes to support the most vulnerable members of society through child protection and juvenile justice projects. Tdh has development projects and emergency relief programs in more than 30 countries and currently has operations in Hebron and Gaza.
Tdh is seeking to hire a proactive and hard working Administrative, Logistics &Security Assistant to join its team in Jerusalem. The position will report directly to the Finance & Admin Coordinator
II-Position Profile:
Maintenance and filing of legal and important office-related documents as well as accountancy files.
Receipt and payment of office-related bills.
Management and safety of Cash box and petty Cash.
Manage the procurement process through the different stages: orders, tracking, taking delivery, any customs clearance and conformity checks.
Manage the office equipment, maintenance, and stationeries.
Liaise with Israeli and Palestinian authorities to facilitate working permits, visas, access permits.
Provide logistics support to visiting expatriates or local visitors to field offices.
Organize accommodation, flights, transportation and provide assistance to expatriates or visitors in the OPT.
Organise and coordinate local transport.
Assist in informing visitors (local and expatriaties) of current security situation and keep them updated with new incidents that may affect staff or project.
Assist in the implementation and enforcement of the Tdh risk management and Child Safeguarding policy.
Ensure that safety equipment is present, up-to-date and in compliance.
Undertake other duties that may be determined by his or her supervisor or Terre des hommes Country Representative.
III-Qualifications:
Fluency in English, Arabic and moderate fluency in Hebrew is a plus. The spoken language in the office is English.
A bachelors degree in Business Administration or a relevant degree.
At least 18 months of experience in a similar position preferably within an NGO.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to manage day to day interactions with contracted external service providers.
Valid Driving License.
Jerusalem ID.
