Terms of Reference:
Job Title: Administrative Assistant (part-time 50% - 20 weekly hours)
Timeframe: Monday-Thursday from 9am to 14pm, or 12 pm to 17 pm.
Monday-Friday from 10am to 14pm, or 9am to 13pm.
Location: Jerusalem
Contract: 3 months (with possibility of extension)
Deadline for Application: April 16th, 2010
Key Responsibilities and Specific Duties - Supervised by the Country Representative:
-To follow up the implementation of the projects under the supervision of MPDL Administrative Manager, in order to meet deadlines in financial reporting.
-To submit financial reports to MDPL - including supporting documents needed for justification.
-To classify and review financial documents.
-To perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
-To ensure transparency and accountability of all disbursed funds.
-To ensure confidentiality towards MPDL’s financial information.
-To perform other administrative tasks (i.e. invoice translation, secretary tasks, etc.) and other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
Essential
-Minimum: Secondary Education + degree/training in Finance and Accounting.
-Minimum: 1 Year of relevant experience
-Previous budget management responsibilities.
-Fluent English.
-Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
-Knowledge of Excel.
-Ability to learn and perform duties under pressure.
-Willing to perform basic administrative tasks (i.e. photocopy and classify physical documents)
Desirable
-Spanish is in asset.
-Experience of leading multi-cultural teams within a high pressure environment.
-Previous experience with administration in INGOs

Short introduction about MPDL Movimiento por la Paz (MPDL) / Movement for Peace is Spanish NGO working in OPT since 1994.
MPDL has a double aim:
-To promote, publicize and defend the universal principles that support the peace, disarmament, freedom and harmony between men and women and people in the framework of internationally recognized Human Rights Law.
-To act against inequality and injustice through development cooperation, humanitarian aid and social action.
In order to accomplish the following activities:
-Deepening the knowledge, promotion and dissemination of the principles and norms governing relations among different cultures, peoples and nations to prevent and negotiate solutions for conflicts and achieve a more just social order based on respect for the Human Rights.
-Raising awareness through information, education and training, particularly targeting youth, the values of peace, freedom, solidarity, justice, equality and the right to development.
-Implementing specific, human-centered plans for international cooperation and joint development in the poorest areas of the world – facing underdevelopment on the economic and socio-cultural level and in the fields of security and stability – which focus on combating poverty and social injustice and are committed to gender equality, environmental protection and sustainable development.
-Humanitarian Action through actions that contribute to overcoming the emergency situations that affects people and territories in areas of the world shaken by devastation, famine, natural disasters or war.
-Social action through positive actions that encourage the integration of persons in situations of insecurity, displacement and social exclusion, especially with regard to women, children, elderly and immigrants, as well as the reception of asylum seeking and refugee people from countries in crisis or conflict.
-Promotion of voluntary activities and training in order to integrate large segments of the population in the ACTIVITIES conducted by our organization.
-Promotion, participation and empowerment of platforms, forums and networks to channel the activities of the various movements, institutions and civic organizations that serves similar purposes as the Movement for Peace.
