Administrative Officer – The Carter Center
Position Summary
This person will serve as the main office administrator for The Carter Center's Field Office in Ramallah, providing admin support for field staff including preparing letters and faxes in English and Arabic, copying, filing, editing, data entry, responding to emails, assisting in setting up meetings and events, organization of files and other clerical tasks, handling travel and guest arrangements, and more.
Primary Responsibilities
-Provide administrative support to the Field Office staff.
-Schedule and coordinate meetings/conferences, appointments.
-Manage office communications such as answering telephone calls, faxing, photocopying, etc.
-Assist with the Field Office public events (invitations, mailing lists, agendas, accommodations and logistics).
-Assist with financial reporting.
-Manage cash flow and maintain office supplies and services.
-Occasionally translate material as needed (English/Arabic).
-Conduct preliminary research as needed (English/Arabic).
-Prepare as required, minutes of meetings in Arabic and English.
-Create and maintain filing systems for paper and electronic documents.
-Undertake other activities as may be reasonably requested by Field Office staff in Atlanta or the Field Office.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to the Project Coordinator, or his designee.
Required Skills & Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
-2 -3 years of professional experience (administrative support experience preferred).
-Strong writing and communications skills with ability to translate (English/ Arabic).
-Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
-Computer literacy including strong MS Word skills, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
-Experience using Internet and databases.
Duration
- Three-month assignment with possibility for renewal.
- Hiring immediately.
