The German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. GTZ promotes complex reforms and change processes. Its corporate objective is to improve people’s living conditions on a sustainable basis.
In the context of German-Palestinian Technical Cooperation, GTZ has been commissioned by the German Government to implement the
“Regional Social & Cultural Fund for Palestinian Refugees and Gaza Population“
To support the Programme Team at the German House for Development Cooperation in Al-Bireh, we are looking for an
„Administrative Officer“

Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
-Manage limited subject area or recurring tasks according to request of clients or of supervisor;
-Assist supervisor in implementing GTZ policies, procedures, systems, rules and regulations;
-Perform administrative tasks which demand the mastery of a specific subject area, acting on own initiative and responsibility, anticipating possible difficulties, and developing solutions;
-Manage daily office operations and facilitate information exchange with partners and other programmes;
-Preparation of contracts as required by the S&C Fund;
-Procurement of program assets including inventory and preparation of handing over protocol;
-Organizing business trips including purchasing tickets, hotel accommodation and transportation for staff, consultants, counterparts and travel expense calculation;
-Draw up Local Subsidies contracts, follow up on installments’ and monitor disbursements of Local
Subsidies;
-Follow up on submission of deliverables and completion of payments for the consultants and/or vendors;
-Cooperate with project Advisor on Financial, Contractual, and Technical issues;
-Maintain communications and good relations with colleagues;
-Assist in any other related task.

Required qualifications:
-College or University degree BA in Business Administration or related fields.
-Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant occupational experience.
-Fluent in Arabic and English. German is a definite plus.
-Excellent computer and communication skills.
-Ability to work under stressful conditions, self-initiator, flexible and able to work with people of different backgrounds, service oriented, friendly personality, well organised and motivated
Assignment: Starting 1. January 2011.
