Advocacy Capacity Building Support Officer - BASED IN Gaza

Fixed – term contract up to January 2015
National Position
 
In line with Oxfam’s global and national advocacy and media strategy for the occupied Palestinian territory (OPT), you will support an advocacy capacity building project which aims to develop the capacity of civil society in the OPT to build relationships with relevant authorities, advocate for policy changes and improved services, and you will support in providing training on lobbying, advocacy, communications, and campaigning. Whilst ensuring proper documentation and records in place.
 
Skills and Competencies:
-Completed a University degree in political science, journalism, human rights, or development, advanced degree is an advantage
-3 years previous experience or familiarity in organizing trainings
-Demonstrated several years of relevant working experience on key issues in Gaza and a good understanding of international development issues.
-Fluent in Arabic and English
-Demonstrated knowledge of working with new and social media platforms
-Experience working virtually and being in constant communication via email, skype etc.
-Experience in working with local communities and community driven campaigning
-Ability to think creatively
-Strong interpersonal and coordination skills, ability to work in a team
-Results-oriented
-Risk management skills
