Expanded and Sustained Access to Financial Services Program (ESAF)
Job Opportunity: Agricultural Engineer
Duration: 4 months, Part time (2 days per week).
The Expanded and Sustained Access to Financial Services Program (ESAF), implemented
by Academy for Educational Development (AED), is a United States Agency for International
Development (USAID) funded project devoted to the development of the Palestinian
private sector.
The ESAF Program is currently seeking to hire an agricultural engineer to offer the necessary agricultural extension services to the farmers who will benefit from the Jenin
Initiative - Tunnel Greenhouses Project which will be implemented in Jenin from June to
September 2009.
The selected candidate will be responsible for providing the necessary extension services
to the targeted farmers in the implementation area regarding the different vegetable crops
that will be planted under the greenhouses for the upcoming season
Qualifications needed for this position:
­- Must have a Bachelor Degree in Agriculture or similar field from an accredited university
­ -Must have at least three years work experience in agricultural extension and supervision,
preferably in protected agriculture
­- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team is required
­- Excellent English communication skills (writing and speaking)
­- Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience with International Organizations
­ -A valid and clean driving license
