Agricultural Operations and Training Officer

Empowering Palestinian Agriculture through Vertical Farming

WEDO seeks a qualified Agricultural Operations and Training Officer for a nine-month assignment at our Auja Eco Center in the Jordan Valley. Funded by USAID’s Building Regional Economic Bridges (BREB) Activity, this program will establish a Vertical Hydroponic Farm Pilot at its Auja Eco center.

The Vertical Farming Initiative, a collaborative effort between Palestinian, Israeli, and American agricultural professionals, introduces cutting-edge agricultural technologies to the West Bank. This program empowers Palestinian farmers to establish and manage vertical farms, enhancing local production and fostering valuable cross-border economic partnerships.

Led by experts from Vertical Harvest and Green Wadi, the initiative provides comprehensive theoretical, practical, and technical training, promoting innovation and sustainability in Palestinian agriculture. This effort also specifically equips female Palestinian agricultural professionals with the skills to run successful vertical farming businesses, increasing their impact on regional and international trade.

Ideal candidates will meet the following criteria:

• Agricultural engineering graduate
• Experience in training and agricultural farming activities
• Business experience preferred
• Female
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
• Located in Auja, Jericho, Jordan Valley
• Available immediately
