Agricultural Project Coordinator
Assignment Summary:
The Agriculture Engineer will lead and provide technical assistance and oversight to Anera’s agriculture projects in the West Bank, primarily focusing on setting up rooftop gardens and other anticipated agriculture projects. This role is crucial for ensuring the design, implementation, and success of agricultural activities to enhance community livelihoods and sustainable agricultural practices.
Project Description:
Current agricultural activities are focused on:
- Installation of Sustainable Rooftop Gardens: These projects aim to empower local communities, particularly women and families, by providing them with the tools and knowledge to establish productive rooftop gardens.
- Small-scale greenhouses and home gardens: as part of women's empowerment new businesses of agricultural type might be initiated. Such small enterprises need follow-up from planning to after handing over coaching.
- Other Anticipated Agricultural Projects: Depending on evolving needs and funding, projects may include additional sustainable agricultural initiatives to enhance local agricultural capacity and food security.

Key Responsibilities:
1- Project Planning and Implementation:
- Follow up on execution of on-ground project activities, including vetting the selected beneficiaries, procurement and distribution of agricultural supplies, and overseeing the installation of rooftop gardens.
- Conduct assessments and mappings to identify suitable households and community spaces for agricultural projects.
2- Vendor and Supply Management:
- Assist in the selection of vendors and inform the procurement process for agricultural materials and inputs.
- Ensure that all project supplies meet technical specifications and quality standards.
3- Capacity Building and Training:
- Develop technical training materials and conduct capacity-building sessions for farmers, beneficiaries, volunteers, and community members to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Monitor and enhance the agricultural skills of participants, ensuring they are equipped to maintain and expand their gardens.
4- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy of data collection and verification from project beneficiaries, validating this data for quality and reliability.
- Prepare detailed reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes, maintaining regular communication with the Program Manager.
- Provide ongoing support and follow-up with project beneficiaries to ensure the sustainability and success of the agricultural initiatives.
5- Technical Problem-Solving:
- Lead the resolution of technical issues on the ground in coordination with the program team, ensuring effective solutions are implemented promptly.
6- Administrative Responsibilities:
- Oversee the submission and validation of timesheets for project field staff involved in agricultural activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Sciences/ Agronomy streams.
- A minimum of three years of proven experience in managing and implementing agriculture projects, particularly those involving urban or rooftop gardening.
- Strong technical knowledge in sustainable agricultural practices and community development.
- Technical training competencies.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and with diverse groups.
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
- Driving license and readiness to travel in the West Bank.
