Position Title: Al-Quds Bard School Coordinator Closing Date for Submitting Application: June 12,2010

Background

The Master of Arts in Teaching Program (MAT) is seeking to establish the Al-Quds Bard School (AQBS), the AQB MS is a collaborative effort of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) and the Al-Quds University.The school is a unique initiative that raises expectations for students while providing a model that can contribute to significant growth in student achievement in Palestine.

Responsibilities and Tasks include but are not limited to:
-coordinate the work of all office staff members;
-Assist in negotiating, designing and formulating collaboration activities;
-Establish and monitor annual planning mechanisms and provide input to progress reporting;
-Liaise and coordinate with Implementing Partners as required;
-Provide planning and organizational support in assisting with program capacity building.

Qualifications:
-B.A or B.Sc. degree
-Jerusalemite ID holder
-Fluency in English and Arabic (oral and written);
-Preferably good skills with IT and software systems;
-Good experience in staff management, and ability to coordinate and motivate interdisciplinary teams;
-Excellent inter-personal and inter-cultural communication skills;
-Strong leadership skills and a talent in strategic long-term planning;
-Proven capacity to coordinate and motivate an important team comprising of females and males from different cultures and nationalities;
-Ability to work and act under pressure, and with discretion;
-Preferably the ability to start work immediately.
