America House Program Coordinator
The Program Coordinator will be based at America House and will travel occasionally in Jerusalem and parts of the West Bank in support of American Spaces programs and activities. S/he will receive administrative supervision and programmatic guidance from the American Spaces Cultural Affairs Specialist based in Jerusalem.
Position Duties:
- develop, schedule, and implement programs and activities at America House in accordance with the 5 American Spaces pillars (English language learning, EducationUSA advising, alumni engagement, accurate and current information about the U.S., and U.S. culture and society) and with U.S. Embassy mission goals, in coordination with the Palestinian Affairs Unit public diplomacy (PAU-PD) team
- provide technical assistance and support, as needed, to America House guests, speakers, and volunteers
- maintain regular and direct contact with the American Spaces team and PAU-PD colleagues when necessary
- create social media content (Facebook and Instagram) to provide information, to engage target audiences, and to promote the American Spaces brand and its activities
- respond to enquiries for information about American Spaces programs and activities
- develop and implement outreach strategy aimed at promoting the American Spaces, in coordination with the American Spaces team and PAU-PD
- provide America House visitors, volunteers, and presenters with appropriate training materials and administrative support
- gather and report program participant feedback before and after events for program monitoring and evaluation purposes
- draft weekly highlights of programs and activities at America House for review by the Cultural Affairs Specialist
- compile monthly and quarterly statistics reports for America House programs and activities
- supervise intern(s) at America House
- travel required to America House Jerusalem and U.S. Embassy Jerusalem as needed
Daily Responsibilities:
- answer incoming telephone calls and emails and respond to inquiries about America House programs and activities
- ensure visitors to America House feel welcome, safe, and respected
- promote the use of America House as a safe space for youth in the community to learn about U.S. culture and society
- greet and receive visitors, respond to their questions, provide information, and assist as necessary
- follow all security protocols and report anomalies to the American Spaces Cultural Affairs Specialist and Director
- organize and maintain electronic database and paper files related to America House programs, activities, and administration
- provide on-site logistical and administrative support for all America House programs and activities
- order, maintain, and inventory office and activity supplies in collaboration with the American Spaces team
- attend weekly staff meetings and fortnightly section meetings; attend other administrative meetings as requested
- create and maintain engaging social media content for America House target audiences
- conduct biannual inventory of all technological assets and report anomalies to American Spaces Cultural Affairs Specialist and Director
- ensure secure storage of supplies and technological assets at the end of each day
- perform other related duties as assigned

Required:
- An undergraduate degree in education or related social sciences
- At least three years of relevant experience
- Exceptional written and spoken English and fluent Arabic; ability to perform oral presentations in either language
- Organized, conscientious, and detail-oriented
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task in a busy workplace environment
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and be self-directed and motivated
- Flexible work schedule
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required; familiarity with online and social media programs and tools strongly preferred but not required
