MA’AN Development Center is an independent Palestinian non-profit organization, established in Jerusalem in January 1989. Relying on a human rights-based approach, community partnerships, and active participation, MA’AN works to enhance the resilience, empowerment, and realization of the rights of those most in need, the poor and marginalized groups and individuals, as well as unleash their latent capacities to enhance their active participation in sustainable development and their abilities to respond to and recover from crises.

MA’AN is implementing the project “Restoration for Children’s Learning, Well-being, and Leadership in Safe Learning Environments,” funded by UNICEF. This project aims to provide informal, fun learning and recreational activities in Temporary Safe Learning Spaces to support children’s learning and well-being. MA’AN seeks to hire competent Area Field Officers to supervise the project field activities. The roles and responsibilities include:

1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of SLS in assigned areas, ensuring they are running smoothly and effectively.
2. Coordinate with local stakeholders, including community committees and mobilizers, to ensure community engagement and support.
3. Monitor the provision of informal learning activities, ensuring they meet the needs of children.
4. Support the training and supervision of educators, ensuring they are equipped to deliver quality education and psychosocial support.
5. Support and guide teachers in developing pre-and post-tests, analyzing results, creating remedial content, and designing activity cards and educational worksheets.
6. Ensure inclusive and gender-sensitive practices are implemented in SLS.
7. Coordinate with the Project Manager on the distribution of educational materials and supplies.
8. Address any issues or challenges that arise in the field, ensuring swift and effective resolution.

1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in education and child protection within humanitarian settings.
3. Proven experience in developing and implementing informal education programs, with a focus on education in emergencies.
4. Demonstrated ability to support and guide teachers in assessment design, result analysis, and the creation of remedial educational content and materials.
5. Strong understanding of community engagement and participatory approaches.
6. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
7. Ability to implement inclusive and gender-sensitive practices in educational settings.
8. Working knowledge of English is an asset.
