Assistant in the Operations and Development Department
Background
The Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) is a leading Palestinian Agricultural Development Organization that was established in 1986. Since its establishment, UAWC has been efficiently engaged in Palestinian land development, water resources & environment, poverty reduction and women empowerment, olive oil marketing, as well as other crucial rural development programs.
Job title: - Assistant in the Operations and Development Department
Work Duration: - 12 months, renewed by mutual agreement of both parties.
Location: - Ramallah, Palestine
Main Duties: -
-Professional representation of UAWC in front of official and public institutions and bodies whenever needed.
-To act as point of contact for, and respond to, all fundraising enquiries and provide efficient and effective supporter care.
-Assistance in monitoring the projects that are being implemented by the Union through a clear monitoring system.
-Follow-up to the implementation of plans for the Operations and Development Department with various personnel in the department.
-Attend internal and external meetings with partners and financiers as a representative of the Operations and Development Department.
-Review and audit the technical reports prepared by the project coordinators and project managers.
-Contribute to the preparation of project proposals offered to the sponsors and partners.
-Work on developing the capabilities of employees in the department.
-The ability to move to different work areas of the Union and its offices as needed.
-Periodic communication with past, present and future funders, both local and international, and which are consistent with the organization's values and principles.
-To carry out any other duties as required.
Education: -
Good standard of general education.
Experience: -
-Experience of using a variety of research resources (including online systems, specialist publications/ journals, CD ROMs, the internet and other forms of information provision).
-Experience of working in an administrative function.
Skills/Knowledge:-
-Evidence of strong organizational skills; methodical in approach, with the ability to juggle many tasks at once and work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy.
-Demonstrable ability to use Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook, access and the internet to produce fundraising reports, proposals, and presentation documents.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Strong interpersonal skills – the ability to develop effective working relationships with people at all levels internally and externally.
-Able to work on own initiative and to be a contributing member of a small team.
-Fast learner, able and willing to pick up new skills quickly and with little supervision.
-Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
-Basic understanding of fundraising practices.
