Iris Interactive Solutions is a young company that bases its work on creative technological solutions, ideas worth implementing and spreading not only in Palestine but beyond the borders, in MENA region. Young, professional and resourceful people working in Iris believe that work must be something that one loves thus does not count hours and minutes spent on developing an idea and making it work. Everybody is welcome to advance, take courses, improve certain skills and demonstrate the best they can outside their main tasks – initiative is encouraged.
Iris has two main fields of work – Interactive and Assistive technology. Assistive branch has developed out of the need to give to community and an understanding that companies should not only preach social responsibility but also act upon it. The company is in need of a person who would be concentrating on the Assistive technology branch.
Position: Your position is a new development and advancement in the company. In order to be a perfect asset for Iris, you must come from a balanced field of social sciences (best if it involves social work, psychology and business management). The position will involve an active communication with clients as well as experts. Clients are the ones who are buying or interested in the products, customized by Iris. Receiving feedback, developing forms and strategies for communication is an important part of the position. Representing Iris when needed in various platforms where Assistive technology can become a mainstream tool. Experts are the ones who work with our target groups (so far but not limited to children with ASD and PTSD, other mental and physical disorders).
The aim of the position: To advance the branch of Iris which deals with a specific pool of products – assistive technology. Assistive technology is currently concentrating on sensory rooms and packages that can be used in a wide variety of settings – starting with rehabilitation centres and schools ending with any environment where people would need relaxation and/or therapeutic support for whichever personal or collective (family, community) reason.
Main tasks (report to the CEO):
- Set a strategy for Assistive technology department at Iris for the next 1 year.
- Develop and maintain feedback based contact with existing clients.
- Do a market research in the relevant field for the Iris products.
- Establish contacts based on the results from the market research with potential clients.
- Prepare and deliver presentations with full content.
- Lead the certification and validation process (with relevant institutions).
- Regularly analyse the new global updates regarding the usage of sensory technology, base the outcome on the existing materials at Iris.
- Create a database and follow up on it regarding the provided services, feedbacks, clients of different categories.
- Determine the needs for Iris to start and join new projects related to the necessities and development strategies outlined in the plans for the near future.
Qualifications of the candidate: first of all – strong educational background, as mentioned above and comes clearly out in the previous descriptions, the candidate has to possess a strong understanding (theoretical and, if possible, practical) of the social field which directly relates to support, help and work with various vulnerable groups (mainly children and families – therapeutic approaches to physical and mental disabilities).
Experience in project management – if you want to work with Iris, you must have done some interesting work before, run some projects (maybe even international) where you have been responsible for things from A to Z? You must be responsible and manage your time and results according to a high standard. Email and phone are the main communication tools – reply to emails and pick up phone calls – this is not something we take easy. Being on time, always ready, fresh and able to present factual arguments – that is what you must know how to do.
English – writing, reading and, naturally, speaking – a lot of our communication in Iris happens in English, there is no way around it. Make sure that your English is in a pretty good shape and that you are motivated to improve it. Constantly. As everything else.
Communication skills – can you easily do presentations, interactions with groups of serious people? Can you smoothly pick the needed words and convince people that they need to listen as you have an interesting message to deliver? Iris needs a person who can structure a presentation with a clear message, to be delivered in an interesting way. Off course, the ideas and message will also derive from your head, so it is crucial to have a great deal of worthwhile thoughts.
Business approach balanced with social responsibility basis – Iris needs a person who would be able to work on the knowledge of the two fields. As it is a for profit company with a clear understanding that social responsibility is a must, especially in Palestine, Iris would like to add to its team a person who will be able to realise the needs of a company, a client based approach, which leads to a healthy survival of the business.
Academic knowledge of psychology and consultation (therapeutic) – what is your educational background? What is your working or volunteering experience? We are looking forward to seeing that as we need someone who took his/her education seriously and can easily list for example 5 (or 7) stages of grief, the main concepts of active listening, the main schools of psychology, what they represent and, most importantly, knows how to conduct and academic research.
