PROGRAM BACKGROUND
Handicap International / Atlas Logistique is an independent, impartial international aid organization operating in poverty-stricken, excluded, conflict-ridden, and disaster-affected areas. Working alongside persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, our focus lies in responding to their essential needs, improving their living conditions, and promoting respect for their dignity and their fundamental rights. Atlas Logistique in Occupied Palestinian Territories supports humanitarian actors by providing storage solutions, including medical products storage with temperature control and cold chain.
Missions and responsibilities:
Responsibility 1: Operationalization of the storage of medical products
- Implement the medical products storage activities in collaboration with the Headquarters Cold Chain Specialist, the Roving Pharmacist, the Project Manager, and the Warehouse Supervisor
- Implement SOPs and contingency plans.
- Set up a temperature and humidity monitoring system with alert in case of temperature deviation
- Archive monthly temperature measures and readings
- Support the logistics team in selecting temperature and humidity control materials and systems, and temperature and humidity monitoring devices.
- Support the logistics team in establishing cleaning, waste management, pest control and maintenance programs
Responsibility 2: Compliance and monitoring of pharmaceutical legislation and regulations, and international standards
- Ensure compliance of Atlas Logistique activities related to medical products, including cold chain and temperature-controlled storage, with Good Storage and Distribution Practices for medical products, and national pharmaceutical legislation and regulations
- Issue alerts to the Operations Manager and the Headquarters Cold chain Specialist in case of non-compliance with required quality standards or GSP.
Responsibility 3: Establish and update the Quality Assurance System
- Implement an adapted quality assurance system with SOPs, plans (including contingency plan) and programs
- Supervise, or carry out self-inspections with results accompanied by proposals for corrective and preventive measures
- Develop procedures for temperature-controlled and cold chain storage, and ensure adherence to them.
- Provide capacity building to the Atlas Logistique teams, emphasizing on GSP.
Responsibility 4: Communication & Representation
- Focal point for technical, legal, and medical or pharmaceutical questions from partners regarding medical products, especially questions regarding the appropriate storage conditions.
- Participation in donor reports.
- Representation of HI/AL activities in medical products storage at the Health and Logistics Clusters level.
Note that this job description must remain flexible, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.

- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
- Sc. in Pharmacy, M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Doctor of Pharmacy is a plus.
- At least 3 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical sector
- Experience in medical products storage, including cold chain
- Good understanding of NGO principles, and pprevious experience with Humanitarian Organisation.
- Previous experience in Logistics is a plus.
- Good knowledge of Good Distribution and Storage Practices
- Good knowledge of the national pharmaceutical regulations
- Proficiency in pharmacology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Good professional communication abilities in English (minimum B2 level).
- Autonomous in work approach
- Collaborative team player
- Ability to withstand pressure and manage stress
