Job Title: Awareness, Counseling and Outreach Assistant Location: Ramallah Office
Save the Children (SC), as a non-profit U.S based development organization, has been working in the Palestinian Territories since 1973. Since starting its operations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip (WB/ GS), SC has concentrated on enhancing Health, Educational, Psychosocial, Food Security, and Economic Opportunities in order to achieve its mission of creating lasting, positive change in the lives of children.
Save the Children is implementing a Vocational Training and Education Development Program (VTEDP) funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with Mercy Corps (MC). VTEDP, a four-year program, aims to strengthen and diversify the skills of young Palestinians. It will promote vocational training among Palestinian students and their communities, while building links
between the League of TVET institutions and the private sector. Through participation in the program, young Palestinians will be able to contribute to the Palestinian economy and their families’ livelihoods. Save the Children invites candidates to apply for the position of the Awareness, Counseling and Outreach Assistant; the Awareness, Counseling and Outreach Assistant is part of the project team works
to ensure successful implementation of all VETDP Awareness, Counseling and Outreach Activities and Interventions within the Project Locations at the and provides required technical assistance in close coordination with community and partners. Participate in producing adequate data, information and reports and providing coordination required for VETDP Awareness, Counseling and Outreach interventions and Activities within the project Locations.
Personnel Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Social/Humanistic Studies/international development/media and campaigns or a related subject
• Three years experience in similar work
• Experience working with Community Organizations; ability to mobilize communities
• Knowledge of local organizations in Palestine and capacity to develop strong coordination
relationships
• Experience and ability to work with partners
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent reporting skills
• Good command of the English language (spoken and written)
• Good Computer skills especially the MS Project.
• Valid driving license
• Ability to travel throughout the West Bank and Jerusalem
