Backend Engineer

As a Backend Engineer, you will be challenged to help design, build, and maintain a sophisticated, powerful, and delightful hiring platform for the hospitality and retail industries while contributing to the overall culture, performance, and integrity of our established team.

The ideal candidate has the following basic qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or a related field.

• Good knowledge of databases and SQL.

• This includes knowledge in database design, as well as the capability of writing and executing queries and procedures.

• Knowledge in NoSQL databases like DynamoDB, MongoDB is a plus.

• Good knowledge of SDLC activities.

• Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and Object-Oriented Programming.

• Familiarity with REST APIs design.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Experience in SOA and microservices architectural patterns and best practices is a plus.

• Experience in Python development is a plus.

• Experience with Python frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask) is a plus.

• Experience with python object-relational mappers (e.g. Django ORM, SQLAlchemy) is a plus.

• Knowledge in shell scripting is a plus.

• Basic understanding and experience working with AWS and its services are a plus.

• Experience in CI/CD tools is a plus.

• Experience working in Agile environments.

• Experience in JIRA management tool, defect cycle, defect priority, and triage.

• Good verbal and written English communication skills.

• Experience in git source control.
