Base Logistician

ACF (Action Against Hunger) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-political, non-denominational and non-profit making organisation working in the Palestinian Territory since 2002.
ACF is currently seeking to recruit a Base Logistician for its Gaza office.

The candidate will be responsible for undertaking all logistical activities related to the implementation of ACF projects in Gaza. Activities will include:
-Planning and undertaking all procurement activities related to project implementation and the running of the base.
-Forecasting future equipment requirements as well as managing and maintaining existing equipment and inventory used on the Gaza base
-Forecasting future fleet needs as well as managing and maintaining an existing fleet of 3-5 vehicles
-Monitoring of the security context, managing day to day security and implementing all security procedures in order to ensure the safety and security of ACF staff/ assets and beneficiaries
-Managing the office and guesthouse to ensure a safe and secure environment for staff and guests to work and reside
-Ensuring all ACF logistics procedures are followed and that donor compliance issues are considered at all stages of the project cycle
-Providing logistical inputs during the development of donor proposals and report writing
-Ensuring logistics activities are closely coordinated with the work of other departments within the Gaza base as well as staff in the
-Providing timely logistics reports to the capital on the implementation of logistics activities in Gaza

Profile of the Candidate:
-3 years of professional experience in procurement or logistics, either in the private sector or NGO’s
-Excellent computer skills especially in Excel
-Well organized, able to plan in advance and with a high attention to detail
-Fluency in Arabic and English (Both written and spoken)
-Motivation and commitment to humanitarian work
-Good interpersonal, analytical and communications skills
-Valid Driving License
-Knowledge of major humanitarian donors (ECHO) and donor compliance issues considered a plus
-Knowledge of security management considered a plus
