Big Data Engineer

Harri is looking for a Big Data Engineer with 1-3 years experience in software development field to join our Office in Ramallah.

As Big Data Engineer you will be challenged to help maintain a sophisticated and powerful data warehouse that supports internal and external reporting for our workforce OS platform for the hospitality and retail industries while contributing to the overall culture, performance, and integrity of our established team. Also, you will be asked to maintain a hygiene and reliable Data Structure, Generate Reports and Prepare Data Sets for further analysis and Business Intelligence Activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

Have a proven working experience in building applications using Java (Backend Development).

Have working experience in Spring framework is preferred.

Have working experience in SQL, relational, and non relational databases.

Have a keen sense of the importance of Object-Oriented development and design patterns.

Have working experience in building and scaling APIs (REST, SOAP).

Hands on experience with Hadoop, Map-Reduce and frameworks/tools around the Hadoop ecosystem is a plus.

Experience with AWS components especially EMR is a plus.

Experience with Streaming frameworks(Kafka, Kinesis, RMQ, ActiveMQ ..etc) is a plus.

Experience with Stream Processing frameworks (Spark Streaming, Flink, Storm ..etc) is a plus

Have working experience in Scala / Python is a plus.

Have working knowledge in ETL process is a plus.

Have working knowledge of GIT repositories.

Have working knowledge in an Agile/Scrum or Waterfall environment and SDLC.

Requirements:

BA Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Or related field.

Good team player with ability to work under pressure.

Contribute to the overall culture of a successful internet startup.
