Biomedical Engineer

The USAID-funded Palestinian Health Sector Reform and Development Project (the Flagship Project) is a five-year project funded by USAID and implemented by Chemonics International Inc. to support the Palestinian Ministry of Health and other key non-governmental health providers in developing a vibrant, sustainable, and efficient health system to improve the quality of life for the Palestinian people. The Flagship Project is currently recruiting highly motivated professionals to fill the following position:

Biomedical Engineer (long-term)
- Works with the procurement staff in evaluating bids for medical and laboratory equipment in addition to disposables as needed.
-Takes part in checking conformity of the bids received in terms of the provision of the requested tests, approvals, letters, reputation, and reliability.
-Follows up with the project’s beneficiaries and vendors on equipment distribution.
-Inspects delivered equipment to ensure contract compliance in terms of delivery time, specifications, source & origin rule, documentation etc.
-Ensures proper installation and the conduct of appropriate operational training by the suppliers.
-Monitors the utilization of the equipment in a timely manner.
-Maintains log for all the equipment donated according to the needs of the project and the donor.
-Conducts monitoring and follow up visits to beneficiaries
Qualifications
- A degree from a reputable university in biomedical engineering or related field.
- A minimum of two years experience in both technical and sales aspects of medical equipment.
- Strong knowledge of a wide range of medical equipment/supplies.
-Works well under pressure and is an excellent team player.
