Birzeit University has received a Grant from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF) – Ministry of Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank and EC for the project entitled: «Developing and Upgrading Two Teacher Education Diploma Programs for Secondary School Teachers and for Teachers of the Upper Basic Level». The Grant aims at developing two teacher preparation diploma programs in Birzeit University, Al Quds University and the Arab American University – Jenin. In order to implement this project, Birzeit University announces the need of the following Full time Positions for a period of
ten months duration with a possibility of assignment extension :
1. Project Director, and below are the Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Ensure the successful implementation and quality outputs of the Project through preparing and organizing project implementation
plan and providing adequate follow up and supervision of the work.
• Follow-up all procurement and financial issues related to the project
• Leading the project team and ensuring team coherence and motivation.
• Evaluation and monitoring of project progress at all stages of the project.
• Managing project internal and external communication including preparation of progress reports, drafting letters, emails,
meeting minutes, etc.
Required Qualifications:
• Masters or Doctorate Degree from an accredited university in Education or one of the Social Sciences or any other related field
• Minimum of three years of professional experience in coordinating similar projects.
• Excellent communication and networking skills.
• Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English and Arabic.
• Excellent technical, interpersonal and administrative skills.
• Budgeting and Computer Skills.
2. Administrative Assistant, and below are the Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Providing help in coordinating all project activities
• Preparing all documents and forms necessary to carry out all procurements according to procurement plan.
• Updating the procurement plan as necessary
• Preparing and follow up all financial documents necessary for trench payments according to budget.
• Assist in preparing progress reports relevant to the project activities.
• Arrange meetings, book and prepare meeting rooms and provide/arrange hospitality.
• Filing of correspondence and all other documents related to the Project
• Drafting letters, emails, reports, meeting minutes, etc.
• Providing direct assistant to management team and assuring logistics support
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in accounting or business administration from an accredited university or any other related field.
• Two years of professional experience in similar assignments.
• Excellent communication and networking skills.
• Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English and Arabic.
• Experience in using MS Office efficiently.
