Médecins du Monde France (MDM-F) is an international medical organization, which has been present in the Palestinian Territories since 1995 and in the Gaza Strip since 2002.

MDM-F is currently working in Nablus district of the West Bank in the field of mental health and emergency, and in the Gaza Strip to support the implementation of the Emergency Preparedness mechnisms in cooperation with the Ministry of Health in Khan Yunis governorate.

 

 

MDM-F is looking for an experienced and motivated candidate as:

 

BLS trainer, Gaza (Part Time Contract)

Starting date: 27th of May 2012.

Duration: 6 months.

Main duties

Establish criterias, in coordination with the partners, for the identification and selection of the participants to the training sessions.
-Identify the participants to the training session among the community in the intervention areas, and verify their interest and commitment before including them in the list of trainees.
-Conduct Basic and Advanced Life Support training to groups of trainees according to ATLS/ACLS standard, following objectives of the program
-Responsible for technical meetings with partners regarding the training, under the supervision of the Base Medical Manager/Field Coordinator.
-Responsible of ensuring that trainees complete training course with a satisfactory level of completion by assessment of trainees’ attendance and standard of performance
-Responsible of scheduling training and of coordinating with the logistics department to ensure that everything is well organised (training venue, training materials, coffee-break, etc)
-Prepare the list of the materials to be included in the BLS kit in cooperation with the Base Medical Manager
-Trough follow up meetings, supervise regularly the activities of the BLS volunteers after the end of the training (number and kinds of emergency cases, difficulties, BLS kit consumption, etc.)
-Represent MDM-F, under the supervision of the field-coordination team, to partners and directors of trainee groups

Requirements

-Medical background (General Doctor with experience in BLS training of 3 years minimum).
-Skills in project planning, management and evaluation.
-Experience in humanitarian medical projects with International NGOs of 5 years minimum.
-Knowledge of the context an asset.
-Good communication and training skills.
-Good command of English language (both written and spoken).
-Computer skills (word, excel, PowerPoint, statistics software…).
-Ability to travel inside the Gaza Strip.
